An Exceptional Property

A natural area of 223 acres (89.4 ha) at the end of Holmes Road, bordered by three lakes and integrated into a vast intact forest. It is home to rare or at-risk species, extensive wetlands, and mature forests that have been preserved from almost all human disturbance. The site also serves as an ecological refuge and corridor identified by the GTCO.

🌳Mature forest: sugar maple, hemlock, pine
💧Extensive interconnected wetland complex
🐥Three bordering lakes, several streams
🐦Rare species & at-risk bird populations
Why act now?
Current zoning permits forestry harvesting, resort development, and intensive recreational activities that could permanently alter this natural gem. Protecting this land will contribute to Cantley’s municipal goal of conserving 51% of its territory by 2030.

Make Your Pledge Today

We are seeking pledges of support for this historic acquisition — Conservation Cantley’s first. Consider it an investment in your community and a commitment to future generations.

We have applied for funding from public and private foundations. We also need to raise $50,000 from individuals. It’s ambitious, but achievable.

If the acquisition proceeds, you will be contacted to honour your pledge. Conservation Cantley, a registered charity, will issue tax receipts when pledges are called.
